Submission Guidelines

I intend to review speculative fiction (science fiction, fantasy, & horror) from indie authors.  I’m not going to be terribly strict on the genre, but your chances of getting a review increase exponentially if your story matches my preferences.  I am also a spelling/grammar Nazi (submitter beware).

To request a review of your ebook, email me at bcby101-reviews at yahoo.com.  For your convenience (and mine), I have included a template at the bottom of this page.  Please copy and paste this into your submission request email (I filled this out with the information from one of my ebooks, so replace my information with yours).  If you pique my interest, I’ll respond to request an electronic copy (mobi, epub, or pdf are all fine).

I will post a video review to youtube that you can embed on your author site and generate a text review for Goodreads, Barnes & Noble, Apple, and Smashwords.  Unfortunately, I cannot put your review on Amazon due to the fact that my own works are on that site and I want to avoid the appearance of impropriety.  Amazon has strict policies against exchanging book reviews.

Finally, please keep in mind that reviewing your work is a favor and not a service.  As a fellow author, I sympathize with your righteous hunger for social proof in the form of timely good reviews.  But I am plenty busy with professional and private obligations, so my review work can only be as timely as my schedule dictates.

So:

  1. I’m going to reject stories that aren’t my cup of tea
  2. If accepted, the process may take a while
  3. I may abandon a read (you wouldn’t want a negative review anyway)

Blurb:  Zack Vernon is an immortal Observer sent to watch the world on behalf of the Creator. When his suicide attempt fails spectacularly and earns him a spot on the national news, the other Observers are drawn to him.

They believe Zack to be the reincarnation of a rebellious Observer from a previous world. Several of them plan to punish him for the sins they believe he committed. One of them wants back the man she has loved through hundreds of worlds. But Zack remembers nothing before the present. All he wants is a chance to end his life.
